Health Secretary, Jeane Freeman, has ordered an inquiry into the construction of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

One patient who died at the hospital had contracted a fungal infection which is linked to pigeon droppings.

Initially it was thought to be two, but tests on the second patient revealed that it was not the primary cause of death.

Infection control measures are in place as an investigation continues.

The £842m QEUH opened in April 2015 and featured in the BBC series Scotland’s Superhospital.
