Bone surgeons the most sexist in the NHS, new poll suggests

Results of an online survey has discovered that over half of female surgeons in the UK have experienced or witnessed workplace abuse, with those working in orthopaedics most likely to have been on the receiving end.

The poll was published in BMJ Open, and found that 43% per cent of women respondents reported sexism while working in orthopaedics, the highest of any specialism, whilst 13% reported sexism in cardiothoracic surgery, and 12% in general surgery.
