Care home residents found in danger of serious harm and illegally deprived of liberty

A care home in Weston-super-Mare was rated inadequate after its vulnerable residents were found to be in danger of “serious harm” and some were illegally deprived of their liberty.

Clevedon Court Residential Home received a surprise inspection from the health watchdog in November after whistleblowers raised safety concerns.

CQC discovered a catalogue of failings during the three-day inspection, and judged safety, effectiveness and leadership at the home to be inadequate.
