Missed appointments cost Isle of Wight NHS Trust almost £600,000 in six months

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust has lost nearly £600,000 this year due to thousands of patients not turning up to appointments, according to new figures.

Data from NHS England showed that, between January and June, 4,877 people either did not show up for an outpatient appointment at the Trust, or arrived too late to be seen.
