New owners put care home’s troubled past behind it with an impressive overhaul and fresh vision

23 July 2018 – Stoke Sentinel

The Chimes Residential Home, in Penkhull, was previously investigated by detectives following a 90-year-old’s death

It has now been dramatically transformed by its new owners – and staff say it’s now like being ‘in paradise’.

Since an inquest heard how neglect at Penkill’s The Chimes Residential Home contributed to the death of 90-year-old Radmila Markovic in 2013, husband and wife team Kavit and Priya Hathi have taken on The Chimes and completely overhauled it.

The home, in St Christopher Avenue, is now rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission, with the residents heaping praise on the attentive staff.
