Extra dementia training for care home staff could save up to 20,000 lives a year and reduce levels of depression, study finds

A study has found that better support for patients led to a significant cut in mortality. The same study also found that there was a higher quality of life and fewer cases of depression and aggression.

If replicated across the UK, it could prevent 20,000 dementia deaths a year.
