A report by the Commissioner for Older People found residents suffered “inhumane and degrading” treatment at the care home. However, owners, Runwood Homes, disputed those findings saying cases highlighted were “isolated“.
The review will consider how health authorities responded to issues at the home and identify lessons to be learned for the future. The social care consultancy firm CPEA is to carry out the review and comes after the department announced a range of measures to address concerns with the care home sector back in June.
